Tax Return Preparation - Who should choose our services?
We primarily focus on tax preparation for individuals who have at least one of the following complexities:
Rental property owners (passive or active)
Fix and Flip property owners
Real estate professionals
Short term rental owners (Airbnb)
Business income (schedule C, LLC, S Corp, partnership)
Stock compensation (RSUs, Incentive Stock options, ESPP, etc.)
Those who need and can benefit from tax planning
Please note that due to capacity, we are no longer accepting clients that do not have at least one of the above complexities.
In addition, all clients must be able to work remotely within our secure portal.
How much do you charge for a tax return?
Every return is different. Having a great CPA on your side is an investment which can help you maximize tax savings. CPAs keep you compliant while minimizing what you owe to Uncle Sam. Fees are based on $300/hour rate but are assessed up-front (flat fees!). However, we reserve the right to re-assess fees when necessary (for example, new business, new rental, messy bookkeeping, additional forms etc. not discussed in initial interview process).
Personal Returns: Start at $1,000
The rate depends on how many W-2s, 1099-Rs, 1099 Brokerage, 1099-Ints, K-1s, Schedule C, Schedule E rentals, state filing requirements, etc. you have. At this time, we are no longer accepting clients with W-2 only simple tax returns. Minimum fee starts at $1,000. Fees are kept at a fair rate competitive with small CPA firm rates. We are able to keep fees competitive as a remote first firm.
Business tax returns (S corporations and partnership returns, and trust tax returns) start around $1,900 depending on complexity & state filings. Business owners who have an entity other than a sole proprietorship or single member LLC must have proper bookkeeping to become a tax client. If you do not have a bookkeeper, Golden Years can refer you a partnered bookkeeper.
Is consulting included with tax preparation?
No, this will be assessed at a separate fee. Questions during the tax preparation process are included with tax preparation. However, consulting, projections, and tax planning are not included in the tax preparation costs.
How are Fees assessed?
We provide a consultation and can give you an estimated cost upon review of your prior year tax returns.
We do charge a flat fee for tax preparation.
Consulting and tax planning services are charged at a separate fee and will be assessed based on your tax situation and goals.
Will you represent me in an audit?
In the rare event of an official tax audit, assistance maybe assessed at an hourly fee of $300/hr depending on the scope and hours spent on an audit.
